Networking as a career option   - by Swapan Purkait, 16th April, 2014
Networking as a career option If computers are what keeps you connected with the rest of the world, then network engineers are the people who keep your computers connected. Long time back, one of my networking student jokingly said, "We are nothing but a glorified plumber". It was a joke, but once you consider the kind of job we do, he was not completely wrong.

A plumber installs and repairs water supply lines at your home so that you can get water whenever you open the tap. Similarly we install and maintain all those cables (sometimes wireless), switches, routers and servers, which connects you to your favourite website for example - facebook.com. If we don't work, you will not be able to get those cricket match updates in your mobile handset or will not be able to tweet your relationship status.

In a single line - we network engineers design, set up, test, secure and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), intranets, Internets and other data communications systems.

You must be thinking, connecting two computers to make a network is not a rocket science, anybody can do that, infact you make a network to play counter strike or NFS every night. So how can one have a career on the same. more ..

Research Paper writing with Nettech   - by Swapan Purkait, 21st September 2013
research-paper-writing-with-nettech Becoming an experienced researcher in any field or discipline takes a great deal of practice. There are few individuals for whom this process comes naturally; remember, even the most seasoned academic researchers have had to learn how to write a research paper at some point in their career. Therefore if you are ready to make a start and have the willingness to learn (and to make mistakes!), we will help you.

As the job competition gets tougher, with every passing day, employers think of innovative ways to shortlist candidates for a particular job. However, it is an established fact that every employee can contribute gainfully to the fortunes of any organization, if he or she has the correct communication and observing skills. This process reveals the importance of research paper, as employers use them as a tool, to assess students, for this purpose. more ..

My Summer Training with Nettech   - by Ujjwal Deep, 20th June 2013
My-Summer-training-with-Nettech.html Hello I am Ujjwal Deep, have completed my summer training program on Web Development with Nettech under the Guidance of Swapan sir.

Nettech is such a wonderful company which has given me a huge knowledge about web designing and everything related to PHP. Swapan sir's really a star, now that the classes are over, I miss his teachings. Coz Swapan sir's not only a great teacher, he's a great trainer and a good friend as well.

His teaching style is really great; never saw anyone giving so much effort the way that Swapan sir used to take the effort to teach us. He was always punctual, on the very first day of training he told us whosoever comes late to the class will have to give him a BOURNVILLE chocolate and if he comes late into class then he will give us a big treat in Mayfair Hotel's restaurant to all the student of our class. In this process he has taught us to respect time. I remember our class timing was from 10:00 AM and Swapan sir always reached 9:45 AM in class. One day he was suffering from fever and the time was 9:55 AM everyone thought today sir definitely will be late for class and so he will have to give us a treat at Mayfair, Well !!! He proved us wrong and he came to the class exactly at 9:58AM. 2 mins before from class time, I told him sir we all thought today you'll be late and we will go to Mayfair, I was shocked also to see that sir was suffering from fever I told sir, "you are suffering from fever why you came in class today", sir replied I am always on Time and the whole class did salute to sir. more ..

Nettech journey - student to trainer to professional   - by Srijon Sil, 24th Jan 2013
Nettech-journey-From-student-to-trainer-to-professional.html MY journey with Nettech began when I had just completed my 2nd year in engineering and enrolled for Nettech's summer networking course in SMIT, Sikkim. And in those 20 odd days, I learnt more about Linux and networking than I had in my entire engineering career.

It's not that the syllabus is huge and complex and covers A to Z of all aspects of networking. The difference between Nettech and other courses is it strengthens your basic concepts, ignites the spark, the interest to learn and then leaves everything on the student to build on it. Instead of the traditional mugging up and giving tests technique, Nettech believes in practical implementation of the knowledge gathered by simulating live projects with time deadlines, task delegations, team building etc. Add to that, the perks of adventure sports and sightseeing trips. more ..

Honestly speaking we are having a tough time at KIIT campus, students here are not familiar with our system and we are facing a stiff resistance from the students. We are hopeful, they will understand the logic behind these tests and co-operate. Problem is they are in a state of shock. They always thought if they are not completely right, still they will get some marks for attending the question :). But with us its 10 or 0.

Nettech Journey   - by Shivani GV, 9th May 2012
Nettech-Journey I joined Nettech in the month of June (2011) in BITS Goa. How many of us actually think about “FOCUS” when it's an awesome place like Goa :) But believe me those days will never come back for me. When I actually joined the batch I did think I knew atleast the basics of networking but the test speaks of everything :) The morning breakfasts with friends to reach the lab on time, the timer which decides whether we are on time or not, the sleepy faces of the students of all years (1st,2nd,3rd,4th) I still remember all of them.

Coming to classes and tests. I never saw students being so tensed. Every morning tests would be conducted and terror ran through our veins. Lol. It was fun to learn when Swapan Sir made it easy to remember, memorize things like port number (IMAP sir) I can never forget this. He is the best teacher for networking I have come across. Making a cable was my long desire for a long time. I never understood how the colored strings went together to get connected. Sunayana ma'm was the one who taught us that and it was an awesome experience overall. I used to browse daily through the result webpage with a hope to make it to top 10 lol. That was an awesome feeling though to be among the green, blue students. That's how the classification was done. It always kept up the pace of competition. more ..

Wrack your brains till it drains   - by Bageshwar Pratap Narain, 3rd May 2012
Nettech-wrack-your-brains-till-it-drains.html Well, the journey goes back to the January of 2008, when Nettech visited our campus. I was initially arrogant about the whole hacking/Linux course, but then decided to give it a try. Went to the demo class and met Swapan Sir for the first time. His intriguing words immediately kindled my interest into the subject and I decided to enrol myself.

Speaking of Linux, I was a complete novice in this domain and a failed attempt at installing Linux is what I could call as experience. The initial round of course went off pretty smoothly and my interest in Linux grew by leaps and bounds. Grew fond of Computer Networking, the passion I am carrying till date. The fact that multiple people were issuing commands to the same server using different terminals was amazing. These and other such things pushed me further into learning about it. Starting with learning how to make LAN cables, to installing Linux, to configuring it, to administering it, and up to troubleshooting, it was a “wrack-your-brains-till-it-drains” experience. more ..

Perfect Platform to start with Networking   - by Surya Prakash, 28th April 2012
Perfect Platform to start with Networking I did my NETTECH course in the month of July 2011 at XIMB, Bhubaneswar. I was in third year and we were given summer training holidays, I was not sure about which training course to join for networking as I knew about the style most of them follow and I didn’t wanted to waste my money and time in summer training. I came to know about NETTECH from our senior and he advised me NETTECH if I am really looking something to learn. 22 days of training at NETTECH were unbelievable.

"SERVICE NOTE BOOK STOP, SERVICE EXAM START", the everyday 10 minute exams are perfect to tell you where we stand and what mistakes we can do when in pressure!. The timer starts, you get a question, you know you have to do it right, you did it right just in time, but what happens if you wrote satyam in place of saytam?. A simple spelling mistake which you never thought of, or missed some sequence of steps will give you "0" makes us learn that there is either all correct or it’s all wrong in networking. more ..

The Next-Gen Networking Arena – Nettech   - by Rahul Panigrahi, 26th April 2012
The Next-Gen Networking Arena – Nettech Honestly guys, how many of you actually join college with a pre-decided idea of what you want to learn and what you wanna do in the next coming years of your life??? No one, I suppose. Me??? Apart from having fun and chilling out, I had no clue whatsoever about what I was actually interested in.

So, when some of my friends asked me if I was willing to attend some Nettech course in Goa, I was like, “Sure!! Why not?? After all its Goa”. Little did I know, that this particular course would play such a major role in giving an entirely new direction to all my technical interests.

Why Nettech??? This question has sooooo many answers. Unlimited knowledge sharing along with phod masti, Grueling lab sessions along with scuba diving, torturing T10 tests along with Goa darshan, and a lot many factors. Nettech actually makes you a master in the Networking Arena. Not to forget, soo many other things you get to learn here. No one can teach you better than this. Actually, its not about the teaching either, but its all about the tense, tough, and pressure environments they offer you, which, believe me, helps a lot in real-life scenarios. more ..

From Nettech to CISCO Systems   -by Lester Pinto, 25th April 2012
From Nettech to CISCO Systems Frankly when I started my Engineering course, I didn't actually have a favourite subject or wasn't particularly interested in any topic academically. And then one day in my 2nd year Swapan Sir came to my College and gave us a 10 min lecture on Networking during an afternoon class. The enthusiasm with which he gave the talk to us was the main thing that I had noticed.

We all used to play CS or DOTA in our hostels on the LAN. And many a times that involved putting in IP addresses into our Laptops and using a Hub. Had no clue which ones to use or how the mask the mattered. So I decided with a couple of other friends of mine to attend the summer camp Nettech had. That was one reason and the other one was because it was going to be held in Sikkim. Due to some unforseen circumstances the camp did end up getting shifted to Allahabad but those were the best 25 days of my life.

Learnt so many things about how Networking is the single most important thing I used to work in my day to day life without even noticing it. That workshop got me hooked and later when Swapan Sir asked me to join his team as a trainer I gladly accepted. Best decision ever made and I am here today because of that. more ..

Nettech - The Dawn of a Networking Career   -by Sirshak Das, 23rd April 2012
Nettech - The Dawn of a Networking Career Well, Nettech has been one the most important things that has ever happened to me in my life. I say life because not only has it taught me about networking but also how to study for anything in life.

I overheard once my friend saying this to Santu Sir when he was in our college, "Nettech ne humme sirf padhna nahi sikhaya but ye sikhaya ki padha kaise jata ".

True, Very True!!!!!!!

I gave the heading, Nettech - The Dawn of a Networking Career, because Nettech does not just teach networking, it introduces you to the fabulous world of networking and network security.

When I did it back in my first year I had zero knowledge in networking. When I joined, I was not so sure because I had all these 3rd and 4th year guys around with tons of knowledge more than me but once the program started I never thought for a second that I was a 1st year chap among these 3rd years, at least Swapan sir and the Nettech team did not make me feel that way. more ..

Life at Nettech !!    - by Arpita Sarraf, HIT Haldia, 18th April 2012
Life at Nettech Nettech- It's a Place where you get to learn not only concepts but also how to manage yourself in the tough and hectic schedule, punctuality , sincerity toward job and most important getting the feeling of one being an engineer.

Talking about the classes taken- it became interesting with Swapan sir's continuous humour and at the same time one cannot dare to do anything else than listening to his commands.

The thing that I liked the most was the teaching style. Striving to put concepts in everyone's head. And best part forcing students to troubleshoot their problem. more ..

This summer, see you in GOA !!    - by Team Nettech, 30th March, 2012
This summer, see you in GOA !! You are relaxing on the sands of Goa, enjoying the breeze and waters brushing your feet, beguiled and content with your life.

While back in your room, someone from the USA is clicking pics from your webcam, accessing your hard-disk, changing your passwords and emptying your credit cards. Or better still, your Android, BADA, Symbian or iOS is sending your EXACT location to that guy even while you are reading this.

This is the power of hacking. And if you wish, this will soon be the power of YOU so that you can stop such things to happen to YOU!!! more ...
