Hindustan Times Nettech signs MoU with XLRI, XIM in network mgmt NETTECH, A Bhubaneswar based IT firm signed two separate MoU with city-based Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) and with Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar to impart a certificate program in network management on Linux platform in both these B-schools from May 2005. Engineering students from Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh can participate in the training program. Manager of Nettech, Swapan Purkait said, "The program will offer an intensive 30-day course on Linux Services." The candidates will do an intensive 30-day course on Linux services." The candidates will need to pass the online as well as simulated lab examination to test skills operating in Linux environment, he said adding the course is designed to increase technical knowledge on Linux. XLRI systems professor Asish K Pani will be the program coordinator in XLRI. Purkait explain the rationale behind the thrust on networking courses. Unlike in the software segment, the advantage of networking products in that they continue to coexist in the marketplace while competing with each other. Besides this is one segment that has not been overhyped during the last few years and yet has quietly established its importance and indispensability. According to Purkait, the demand for Linux trained professionals would come from both IT companies making the transition from Windows or Unix to Linux. |
